I'm a team member and contributor for The Women+ of Color project. The Women+ of Color project provides an open platform for women of color (WOC) to communicate about best practices for applying to graduate school, surviving graduate school, maintaining research productivity, and growing their academic careers. It aims to take the first step by providing an online classroom-focused solely on how to apply to graduate school and what admissions committees are looking for.

Astrobiology

Teaching Kids About Astrobiology
​

What is life? How do we find it? How do we know it's life? Why is this important? These are but a few burning questions astrobiologists ask when searching for life throughout the cosmos.

​

I enjoy giving talks to K-12 students about astrobiology. Most students are aware of the field of astronomy. However, very few students know about the field that's devoted to searching for life on other planets. 

​

My passion and expertise in most sciences and math, combined with my excellent teaching and tutoring skills, has helped hundreds of students of all ages for more than eight years. I also have five years of experience with teaching and tutoring the SAT, PSAT, and ACT.

 

I understand the struggle of not fully understanding the material while exhibiting the desire for wanting to understand. I take pride in making lessons fun so that they are exciting, easy to grasp, and hard to forget. Classroom management, personalized learning programs, and innovative educational techniques are just a few of my areas of expertise. By teaching students in a wide range of ages and situations, I have honed my communication, creativity, and motivational skills. My inherent passion for fostering collaborative and engaging educational environments has successfully encouraged and developed productive, thoughtful, and accomplished students.
